What is Sejlerkortet
Sejlerkortet (the sailor’s map) is a new way to plan your sailing trips and works just as well for day sails as for longer holidays. If you already have a chart plotter or a navigation app, Sejlerkortet is the perfect companion. The app is fast for that first round of planning and focuses on giving you all the information you need to choose your next destination.
The app launched in summer 2025 and already has more than 6,000 active users.
🇩🇰 🇸🇪 🇩🇪 We cover Denmark, southern and western Sweden, and the German Baltic coast — 771 marinas in total.
Information tailored to your boat
-
The price for your boat: Enter your boat’s length and beam once, and we automatically match your dimensions against each marina’s tariff so you see exactly what a stay will cost. If your boat carries a free harbour sticker, we highlight free harbour rates and member marinas directly on the map.
-
Space and depth: We compare your boat’s draft and size with the marina’s depth and berth dimensions, so you know straight away whether there is room for you.
Details that save time in the marina
We don’t just tell you that a marina has showers or a fuel berth. We show you exactly where each facility is on the map, along with the details that actually matter.
- Need a shower? See whether you need a code, an access card, or whether the door is simply unlocked.
- Need to refuel? See whether they have GTL diesel, marine diesel or petrol — and whether the pump is open around the clock or needs to be arranged in advance.
- Need to pay? Get a direct link to online payment, or find the payment machine on the map so you don’t have to go hunting for it.
You spend less time figuring out how the marina works and more time enjoying your time off.
Routes in seconds
Plan a route between any of the 771 marinas on the map in under a second. Routes don’t just follow a straight line — they take buoys and channels into account, so you get a realistic estimate of distance, sailing time and fuel consumption.
Works without internet
The map and all key features work offline. That means you can use the app and plan the next leg even when you’re tucked into a small cove with no signal or far from shore.
Kept up to date by sailors like you
Sejlerkortet is partly user-maintained — and it works. We’ve received and reviewed more than 4,000 contributions from sailors who know the marinas first-hand, which is why our information about facilities and prices stays accurate and current. We add new marinas and gather as much information as we can ourselves, but the local details only come from sailors who’ve been there.
Frequently asked questions
Is Sejlerkortet really free?
Yes. Sejlerkortet is free to use. It’s not a trial or a demo, and we don’t ask for your credit card. Everything you can use today will stay free. Should we ever introduce a paid layer on top, the current features will remain free.
Can I navigate with Sejlerkortet?
No. Sejlerkortet is built as a planning tool and a companion to your plotter and other navigation equipment. We’re not a navigation app. Our focus is giving you a quick overview of marinas and route estimates, so you can check options easily from home, from a restaurant, or on board.
We don’t include depth contours or fully updated buoys. Licensing nautical chart data is expensive and would mean Sejlerkortet became as costly as other apps with full charts.
Who is behind Sejlerkortet?
The project was started by Morten Kjems, who sails a Hallberg-Rassy Monsun 31 from 1977. Morten has a background as a software developer and entrepreneur, and has sailed around Denmark with trips to Sweden, Norway, Germany, Finland, Estonia and Scotland. The need for a better planning tool is what got the project going.
